End of Year Message from the Director

As we reach the close of another remarkable school year, I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude to our entire school community—students, parents, faculty, and staff—for your partnership, support, and unwavering commitment to learning.

This year has been filled with growth, discovery, and meaningful connection. From academic milestones and student performances to service projects and spirited community events, our school has been alive with the joy of learning and the strength of community. These shared experiences have shaped not only the students' academic journeys, but also their character and sense of belonging.

To our students: thank you for your curiosity, your resilience, and your courage to grow. You are the reason we do this work, and we are so proud of you.

To our parents and families: thank you for your trust, collaboration, and support. You play an essential role in every child’s success, and we are grateful for your presence in this community.

To our faculty and staff: thank you for the care, dedication, and professionalism you bring every day. You are the heart of our school, and your efforts have made a lasting impact.

As we now turn toward summer, I hope each of you finds time to rest, reflect, and reconnect with loved ones. Whether you are returning next year or heading on to new adventures, know that you are always part of this community.

Wishing you a wonderful and restful summer break.

Message from the Incoming Director

My name is Susan Friend, and I look forward to becoming the interim director of QSI Astana. I currently work in QSI Headquarters, as the Accreditation Internal Coordinator. I have been with QSI for 15 years in both teaching and administrative roles. I hold Administrative certifications in PK-12, as well as Reading and Writing Specialists and Cross-Cultural Language Acquisition and Development. I have lived and worked in several QSI schools around the world.

I believe that the educational model of QSI and the mastery approach helps young learners be internally motivated and successful. It is my goal to continue the quality of education that you and your children enjoy. There is every expectation that this school year will be one of academic progress in a dynamic learning environment for each student. I hope to positively affect the students in the school in order to grow and reach their potential.

Sincerely,

Susan Friend
